Welcome to READY! for Kindergarten for Muhlenberg County!
The Felix E. Martin Jr. Foundation’s SOAR program and the Muhlenberg County School District are excited to offer free READY! for Kindergarten classes for the families of all children in Muhlenberg County who will start Kindergarten in fall 2016.
Pathway of Hope and the Felix E. Martin Jr. Foundation's SOAR program also offers READY! for Kindergarten to parents/caregivers of babies birth-1 yr. It is never too early to start playing with a purpose!
As a parent or caregiver, you are your child’s most powerful teacher and home is where the best start occurs. Young children learn best through active involvement with people they love and trust - their parents and family! These classes provide parents with training and tools to encourage pre-kindergarten activities in the home.
Once registered, each family will attend three 90 minute sessions throughout the 2015-2016 year. At each session, attendees will be taught about simple activities they can do to prepare their child with the early learning skills they will need to be successful in kindergarten. At each session, each family will also receive a free kit full of educational toys and activities (worth $58), which they can take home to use with their child throughout the year.
Four year old essions will be held at each elementary school in the Muhlenberg County School District and childcare will be provided for children age 2 – 12 yrs. It is vital that parents/caregivers attend all three sessions!
