Welcome to South Kitsap School District's READY! for KINDERGARTEN program!

Any parent, guardian, or childcare provider living within the boundaries of South Kitsap School District can attend this FREE training. Families outside of South Kitsap, please check the Ready! for Kindergarten website for the program nearest you! 

Did you know....

From birth to age 5, a child learns faster than at any other time in his or her life. Those early learning experiences influence success in school and beyond. Data shows students who start school ahead, stay ahead. Learn what you can do to nurture a child's development in their earliest  years, preparing their minds for all future learning.

Our READY! workshops provide age-appropriate targets and training in the areas of language and literacy, math and reasoning, and social-emotional understanding. Purposeful play and 20 minutes of daily read-aloud make a difference that lasts a lifetime.

We offer both in-person and virtual options each season. All workshops are age-specific, and are offered in 0-1, 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5 groupings. 
Virtual workshops are open for one month each season. Once your registration is approved, you have until the end-date to complete the course, then you can choose from two different pick-up dates. 
In-Person workshops are held on a Saturday each season. We offer free childcare while parents attend their workshops, and if you've also taken a virtual workshop you can pick up your kit then as well.

We are so excited to announce that we are adding the new READY! Social-Emotional Learning Workshops to our yearly program!! - These workshops are in addition to the regular Fall/Winter/Spring READY! workshops we offer, and are specifically geared toward children about to enter kindergarten in the next 1-2 years (ages 3-5 years old). Parents are welcome, and encouraged, to take both the SEL and regular Ready! workshops. The SEL workshops began as, and will remain, in-person only. There will be two options throughout the year to attend. This Fall, we will offer the 3-4, and in the Spring we will offer the 4-5. Keep an eye out for dates! 

Our Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions each provide different tools and information that build the foundation to help get your child READY! for Kindergarten. 

*If you have more than one child eligible for READY!, you may consider doing either both in-person workshops, or doing the virtual workshop for one age group and in-person for the other. If you have any questions about this please do not hesitate to reach out!
